The President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has approved the appointment of Hon Sunday Adepoju Adeyemi, popularly known as (Omoyin), A former member of House of Representatives as the new Postmaster General/Chief Executive Officer (PMG/CEO) for the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).
The media aide, Mr Uwa Suleiman to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami made the announcement in press statement made available to the newsmen on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
Suleiman revealed in the press statement that Adepoju’s appointment was followed by the recommendations made to the president by Pantami. According to the spokesperson, the appointment is for an initial term of five years.
The press statement read thus: “Hon. Adepoju is a professional accountant and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives from year 2011 – 2015 and 2015 – 2019, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency”.
“NIPOST is an agency under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the appointment of Hon. Adepoju as the new PMG of NIPOST is with immediate effect”.
To be recall that the immediate past PMG, Dr. Adebayo Ismail Adewusi who is also from Eruwa in Ibarapa East local government area was suspended from office on Monday 12th September, 2022 by Pantami.
